Diary of the Dead is the fifth film in Romero's highly acclaimed Dead series of zombie films. It is not a direct sequel to previous films in the series, instead being "a rejigging of the myth" according to Romero.
Diary of the Dead follows a band of people making a horror film at the time of the first outbreak who decide to record the epidemic incident documentary-style and end up themselves being chased down by zombies. more

Day of the Dead is a horror film which is remake of George A. Romero's classic zombie film of the same name, which was the third in Romero's Dead series. The film is directed by Steve Miner (who also directed Friday the 13th Part 2, Friday the 13th Part III and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later) and written by Jeffrey Reddick. Although not related, it features rapidly moving zombies similar to Zack Snyder's previous updated version of Dawn of the Dead as opposed to the slowly shuffling zombies of the original Romero series. It was originally set for theatrical distribution, but was instead released directly to video. It received generally negative reviews.
The film was principally shot in Bulgaria, with limited shooting in Los Angeles, California. Tyler Bates provided the soundtrack, and screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick has a cameo appearance as an ill-fated police officer. more

The film was a critical and commercial success in the United Kingdom, and the United States. It received a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 76 out of 100 at Metacritic. Shaun of the Dead was a BAFTA nominee.
